Note: We will only post legislation we feel is negative or positive, those new bills which don't actually effect your rights will not be included but you can always find them on the state legislation page.

Starting off: LD8 would allow forest rangers to carry a firearm in parks
LD9 would prohibit any agency from creating a firearm owner registry

New today LD44 would lower the age to carry a concealed firearm from 21 to 18

New this week: LD350 would repeal law regarding dealers keeping a copy of a firearm sale record
LD351 would allow local governments to prohibit carrying at municipal meetings and voting places
LD352 would require a gun lock to be included in all retail gun sales
LD501 would require anyone who wishes to buy a firearm to show proof that they have taken an approved firearm safety course

New this week: LD574 would remove the requirement to inform law enforcement that you are carrying a firearm during traffic stops and detainment
LD595 would prohibit state and local law enforcement from seizing any firearm pursuant to the authority of a federal law or regulation or an executive order of the President of the United States and would include civil damages for said officer
LD598 would repeal the statue that requires persons carrying a firearm to inform law enforcement when stopped

New for Maine: LD988 would make an exemption in the law prohibiting firearms on school to allow person carrying a firearm to pick up their child in the school parking lot
LD1050 would allow municipalities to prohibit emergency medical services personnel from carrying firearms while on duty
LD1154 would set up a system whereby a drivers license would be marked that a person is not a prohibited and then private sellers could request to see such an id. Very strange bill
LD1175 would create gun violence restraining orders

LD1370 is a campus carry bill
LD1401 would allow the court to exempt a person convicted of a class A, B or C offense that did not include the threat of bodily harm and did not result in bodily harm from being a prohibited person
LD1469 would make anyone that prohibits the legal carrying of firearms assume 'absolute custodial responsibility for the safety and defense' of those persons
LD1575 would change law regarding employees keeping firearms in vehicles to remove the requirement to have a carry permit

LD1761 would require anyone dropping of f or picking up a child from school to unload their firearm and lock it into a container before going onto school property

LD1824 would repeal current law that would prohibit noise suppressor hunting permits after July 1, 2018
