Range Fee:
$5.00 per day and $25.00 per year. For anyone under 16 and over 64 the fee is $2.50 per day and $10.00 per year.
NOTE: If the office is closed you may self register at the outside Kiosk. The range is unsupervised except at periods of heavy use. DNR Police will check the range as part of their routine patrol and range may be under video surveillance.
Directions:
Directions to the range from GRSF Headquarters Go to the stop sign and turn left, cross over 68 and follow MV Smith Road to the intersection of MV Smith Road and old scenic 40, turn left at the stop sign and proceed on scenic 40 westbound going downhill towards exit 62. Range sign will be on the left.
Range Rules:
USE OF THE RANGE IS BY PERMIT ONLY, and available only at the Green Ridge State Forest Headquarters, located on Exit 64 on Interstate 68.
NO drugs or alcoholic beverages permitted.
NO automatic weapons are permitted.
Persons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
NO shooting when persons are down range - make sure the range is clear before firing, know where others are at all times.
NO loaded weapons permitted outside the firing line.
Shooters will fire from benches ONLY.
ONLY paper targets are acceptable (No targets LOWER than 4 feet from ground level).
Range capacity is one (1) shooter permitted at each firing bench.
NO pets allowed.
NO vehicles permitted on the range area.
NO littering. You must take all targets and trash with you.
PICK UP AND TAKE YOUR USED AMMUNITION.
