Legislation Overview
Title: ORDER OF PROTECTION-NO FIREARM
Description: Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 and the Illinois Domestic Violence Act of 1986. Provides that a person who is subject to an existing order of protection, interim order of protection, emergency order of protection, or plenary order of protection issued by this State or any other state, possession, or territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia, which is substantially similar to an order of protection issued in this State, may not lawfully possess a firearm, firearm ammunition, stun gun, or taser.
