Title: Emergency Management Law; revise definition to include a public health emergency and revise emergency powers of the Governor.
Description: An Act To Amend Section 33-15-5, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Revise The Definition Of The Term "natural Emergency" As Used In The Emergency Management Law To Include A Public Health Emergency Such As An Epidemic Or A Pandemic; To Amend Section 33-15-11, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Limit The Duration Of Certain State Of Emergencies To 45 Days Unless Extended By The Legislature; To Authorize The Governor, Upon Guidance From The Department Of Health, To Allow Certain Medical Professional Licensees In Other States To Perform Professional Services In Mississippi During The Period Of A Declared Emergency; To Create New Section 41-39-17, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Authorize The Department Of Health To Take Possession Of Dead Human Bodies In Any County Where The Department Believes That The County Lacks Sufficient Facilities And Trained Personnel; And For Related Purposes.
