Title: Abortion facility required to have CON and "Mississippi Unborn Infants Dignity Act"; enact.
Description: An Act To Amend Section 41-75-26, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require Licensed Abortion Facilities To Operate With A Current Certificate Of Need Issued By The State Department Of Health And To Prescribe Criminal Penalties For Any Physician Or The Operator Of Any Abortion Facility Which Conducts Abortions Without The Required Certificate Of Need; To Require The Local Medical Examiner To Verify The Proper Licensure And Certification Of The Abortion Facility; To Amend Sections 41-75-1, 41-7-173 And 41-41-45, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity; To Enact The "mississippi Unborn Infants Dignity Act"; To Provide That Miscarried, Stillborn Or Aborted Infants Are Treated With Dignity With Proper Burials, That Broken Bodies Of Aborted Infants Are Not Sold For Scientific Experimentation; To Require Fetal Death Reporting And The Issuance Of Fetal Death Certificates For Unborn Infants Lost Early In Pregnancy; To Provide Criminal Penalties For Violations Of This Act; To Amend Sections 73-11-58, 73-15-29 And 73-25-29, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Conform The Professional Discipline Of Funeral Directors, Physicians, Registered Nurses And Licensed Practical Nurses To This Act; To Bring Forward Sections 41-39-1, 41-39-3, 41-39-5 And 41-39-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, For Purposes Of Amendment To Conform The Disposition Of Human Remains To This Act; To Amend Sections 41-57-31, 41-61-53 And 41-61-59, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Conform The Duties Of The Registrar Of Vital Statistics To Provide For Issuance Of Certificates Of Fetal Death; And For Related Purposes.
