Title: Relating to possession of a weapon by a corrections officer; and prescribing an effective date.
Description: Allows corrections officer employed by Department of Corrections to lawfully possess firearm in locked trunk, glove compartment, center console or other container in officer's personal vehicle when vehicle is parked in department parking lot, department has not provided secure storage for firearms owned by officers and officer is present at department in official capacity. Allows corrections officer employed by Department of Corrections to lawfully possess firearm in locked trunk, glove compartment, center console or other container in officer's personal vehicle when vehicle is parked in department parking lot, department has not provided secure storage for firearms owned by officers and officer is present at department in official capacity. Declares emergency, effective on passage. Takes effect on 91st day following adjournment sine die.
