Title: AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4; Title 38 and Title 39, relative to the sale of firearms.

Subject: Tennessee Bureau of Investigation

Description: As introduced, requires the bureau to conduct a feasibility study on the development and implementation of a software application capable of being utilized on a voluntary basis by gun owners in this state who are not engaged in the business of importing, manufacturing, or dealing in firearms pursuant to federal law for the purpose of conducting a criminal history record check on a proposed purchaser of a used or second-hand firearm through a private sale; requires the bureau to submit a report to the speakers of the senate and the house of representatives, the chair of the civil justice committee of the house of representatives, and the chair of the judiciary committee of the senate by January 1, 2025. - Amends TCA Title 4; Title 38 and Title 39.
