AN ACT

 

repealing section 41‑3014.09, Arizona Revised Statutes; amending title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41‑3022.13; relating to the board of barbers.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Repeal

Section 41-3014.09, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.

Sec. 2.  Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3022.13, to read:

START_STATUTE41-3022.13.  Board of barbers; termination July 1, 2022

A.  The board of barbers terminates on July 1, 2022.

B.  Title 32, chapter 3 is repealed on January 1, 2023.END_STATUTE

Sec. 3.  Purpose

Pursuant to section 41‑2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature continues the board of barbers to ensure that the public is protected from the incompetent practice of barbering.  This is achieved through the establishment of minimum qualifications for entry into the profession, through sanitation inspections and through swift and effective discipline for those barbers who violate barbering statutes or rules adopted pursuant to those statutes.

Sec. 4.  Retroactivity

Sections 1 and 2 of this act are effective retroactively to July 1, 2014.
