AN ACT CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A GUN OFFENDER REGISTRY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to establish a gun offender registry that would make information about persons convicted of certain firearm-related offenses who have been released into the community available to police departments and thereby assist such departments in gathering evidence and information on the commission of crimes in their community.

Statement of Purpose:

To help law enforcement officials intervene to reduce the commission of crimes by repeat offenders.
