AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 11
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 11, AS AMENDED, with
3reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No. 2, as
4follows:
5by replacing line 8 on page 1 through line 6 on page 2 with the
6following:
7"utilities shall give notice and shall supply information
8accessible by the internet about any program a public utility
9is currently offering to residential customers experiencing
10difficulty in paying utility bills due to financial hardship.
11If a residential customer contacts a public utility concerning
12the customer's financial hardship and inability to pay utility
13bills for winter energy services, then the public utility shall
14refer the customer to the Low Income Home Energy Assistance
15Program managed by the Department of Commerce and Economic
16Opportunity. When making a referral, the public utility shall
17inform the customer that the Low Income Home Energy Assistance

1Program is designed to assist income-eligible households with
2winter energy services through payment in the form of a grant
3for assistance made on behalf of the customer to the utilities.
4Each public utility shall post information concerning the Low
5Income Home Energy Assistance Program on its website and the
6information shall also be made available upon a customer's
7request.".
