2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Reverend Jeremy Brooks Robinson of | ||||||
4 | Bethalto, who passed away on January 26, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Rev. Jeremy Robinson was born on April 24, 1968 in | ||||||
6 | Chattanooga, Tennessee; his parents were Rev. Julian and | ||||||
7 | Jeannie Robinson; he married Ginger Sanders in May of 1993; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Rev. Jeremy Robinson graduated from Cleveland | ||||||
9 | High School in Cleveland, Tennessee in 1986; he subsequently | ||||||
10 | graduated from Lee University in 1990 and the Church of God | ||||||
11 | Pentecostal Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in | ||||||
12 | 1993; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Having acknowledged a ministerial calling at a | ||||||
14 | very young age, Rev. Jeremy Robinson preached his first public | ||||||
15 | message at the age of 10; at the age of 16, he became a | ||||||
16 | credentialed minister with the Church of God in Cleveland, | ||||||
17 | Tennessee, where he rose to the rank of Ordained Bishop in | ||||||
18 | 1993; he was a popular speaker for local church revivals, youth | ||||||
19 | camps, conferences, and camp meetings throughout the country | ||||||
20 | and outside the United States, where he also led mission teams | ||||||
21 | to China, Brazil, and Paraguay; and

1 | WHEREAS, After marrying, Rev. Jeremy Robinson moved to | ||||||
2 | Florence, Kentucky, where he and his wife founded the Open Door | ||||||
3 | Community Church of God; they co-pastored the Open Door | ||||||
4 | Community Church for 12 years before moving to Bethalto in | ||||||
5 | February of 2005; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, For the past 10 years, Rev. Jeremy Robinson and | ||||||
7 | his wife, Ginger, served as Senior Pastor of the Bethalto | ||||||
8 | Church of God in Bethalto, a community to which they became | ||||||
9 | well-known pastors at large through the church's ministry | ||||||
10 | efforts in and around the Riverbend area; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Rev. Jeremy Robinson was elected by his Church of | ||||||
12 | God ministerial colleagues at various times to serve as a | ||||||
13 | member of the Youth and Discipleship Board in Kentucky and the | ||||||
14 | State Councils of Kentucky and Illinois; he was also appointed | ||||||
15 | to other boards and committees, including the Pentecostal | ||||||
16 | Theological Seminary Board of Directors; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Rev. Jeremy Robinson was preceded in death by his | ||||||
18 | mother, Jeannie Robinson; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Rev. Jeremy Robinson is survived by his wife, | ||||||
20 | Ginger; 2 daughters, Madray and Mallory; his father, Julian B. | ||||||
21 | Robinson, and his wife, Peggy; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, | ||||||
22 | Rev. Jeffrey B. (Carla) Robinson and Carla Robinson, Rev. Mark |

1 | and Delta Schrade, and Aaron and Tonya Barbee; 5 nephews, | ||||||
2 | Gabriel and Josiah Schrade, Stone Robinson, and Breckin and | ||||||
3 | Brock Barbee; and 2 nieces, Abigail and Lily Robinson; | ||||||
4 | therefore, be it

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
7 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Reverend Jeremy Brooks | ||||||
8 | Robinson; and be it further
| ||||||
9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Rev. Jeremy Robinson as an | ||||||
11 | expression of our sympathy.
