AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 11
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 11, AS AMENDED, with
3reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No. 2, as
4follows:
5on page 2, by replacing line 10 through 22 with the following:
6 "Sec. 26.5. Unemployed persons. If a person can furnish
7evidence that they are receiving unemployment benefits, then a
8pharmacy or pharmacist that is receiving federal or State funds
9must (i) dispense a prescription to that person one time even
10if that person is unable to pay for the prescription at that
11time and (ii) provide that individual with information on
12prescription assistance programs, such as Rx for Illinois. This
13shall be a one-time credit that the individual shall be
14required to pay back on an interest-free payment plan once the
15individual obtains assistance from a prescription assistance
16program.
17 The pharmacy or pharmacist also shall provide the

1individual with information on prescription assistance
2programs and direct the individual to the Department of
3Employment Security website to view available assistance
4programs."; and
5on page 33, immediately below line 16, by inserting the
6following:
7 "Section 25. The Unemployment Insurance Act is amended by
8adding Section 700.5 as follows:
9 (820 ILCS 405/700.5 new)
10 Sec. 700.5. Financial assistance programs. The Department
11of Employment Security shall provide information about
12prescription assistance programs, utility residential hardship
13programs, and other financial assistance programs provided by
14the Department of Human Services to individuals when the
15individual is signing up to receive unemployment benefits. The
16Department shall also make this information available on its
17website.".
