1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 11

2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 11, AS AMENDED, with

3 reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No. 2, as

4 follows:

5 on page 2, by replacing line 10 through 22 with the following:

6 "Sec. 26.5. Unemployed persons. If a person can furnish

7 evidence that they are receiving unemployment benefits, then a

8 pharmacy or pharmacist that is receiving federal or State funds

9 must (i) dispense a prescription to that person one time even

10 if that person is unable to pay for the prescription at that

11 time and (ii) provide that individual with information on

12 prescription assistance programs, such as Rx for Illinois. This

13 shall be a one-time credit that the individual shall be

14 required to pay back on an interest-free payment plan once the

15 individual obtains assistance from a prescription assistance

16 program.

17 The pharmacy or pharmacist also shall provide the

1 individual with information on prescription assistance

2 programs and direct the individual to the Department of

3 Employment Security website to view available assistance

4 programs."; and

5 on page 33, immediately below line 16, by inserting the

6 following:

7 "Section 25. The Unemployment Insurance Act is amended by

8 adding Section 700.5 as follows:

9 (820 ILCS 405/700.5 new)

10 Sec. 700.5. Financial assistance programs. The Department

11 of Employment Security shall provide information about

12 prescription assistance programs, utility residential hardship

13 programs, and other financial assistance programs provided by

14 the Department of Human Services to individuals when the

15 individual is signing up to receive unemployment benefits. The

16 Department shall also make this information available on its

17 website.".
