devices

1.
For
purposes
of
this
section,
a
“large
ammunition
feeding

device”
means
a
magazine,
belt,
drum,
or
similar
device
that
has
4
a
capacity
of,
or
that
can
be
readily
restored
or
converted
to
5
accept,
more
than
ten
rounds
of
ammunition.

A
person
who
sells
or
transfers
any
large
capacity
7
ammunition
feeding
device
commits
an
aggravated
misdemeanor.

Sec.
2.
EFFECTIVE
UPON
ENACTMENT.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
9
immediate
importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

Sec.
3.
APPLICABILITY.
This
Act
applies
to
any
large
11
capacity
ammunition
feeding
device
sold
or
transferred
on
or
12
after
the
effective
date
of
this
Act.

EXPLANATION
14
This
bill
prohibits
the
sale
or
transfer
of
large
capacity
15
ammunition
feeding
devices,
provides
a
penalty,
and
includes
16
effective
date
and
applicability
provisions.

The
bill
provides
that
a
person
who
sells
or
transfers
any
18
large
capacity
ammunition
feeding
device
commits
an
aggravated
19
misdemeanor,
punishable
by
confinement
for
no
more
than
two
20
years
and
a
fine
of
at
least
$625
but
not
more
than
$6,250.

Under
the
bill,
a
“large
ammunition
feeding
device”
means
a
22
magazine,
belt,
drum,
or
similar
device
that
has
a
capacity
of,
23
or
that
can
be
readily
restored
or
converted
to
accept,
more
24
than
10
rounds
of
ammunition.
25
The
bill
takes
effect
upon
enactment
and
applies
to
any
large
26
capacity
ammunition
feeding
device
sold
or
transferred
on
or
27
after
the
effective
date.
