“i”
,
if
the
person
is
on
the
grounds
of

the
school
for
the
purpose
of
transporting
another
person
to
or

from
school
or
delivering
an
item
to
or
from
the
school,
and
if

the
person
remains
in
a
parking
area
or
driveway
designed
for
a
7
motor
vehicle.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

explanation’s

the
members

the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
going
armed
with,
carrying,
or

transporting
a
firearm
when
transporting
a
person
to
or
from
a

school
or
delivering
an
item
to
or
from
the
school.

The
bill
provides
that
a
person
with
a
valid
nonprofessional
15
permit
to
carry
weapons
may
go
armed
with,
carry,
or
transport
16
a
firearm
on
school
grounds
when
the
person
is
on
the
grounds
17
of
the
school
for
the
purpose
of
transporting
another
person
to
18
or
from
school
or
delivering
an
item
to
or
from
the
school,
and
19
if
the
person
remains
in
a
parking
area
or
driveway
designed
20
for
a
motor
vehicle.

A
person
who
goes
armed
with,
carries,
or
transports
a
22
firearm
on
the
grounds
of
a
school
in
violation
of
Code
section
23
724.4B
commits
a
class
“D”
felony.
A
class
“D”
felony
is
24
punishable
by
confinement
for
no
more
than
five
years
and
a
25
fine
of
at
least
$750
but
not
more
than
$7,500.
