AN ACT

To amend chapter 537, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to retrieval of hunting dogs.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 537, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 537.357, to read as follows:

            537.357. 1. A person on foot may, without permission of the owner, occupant, or lessee, enter private land without a firearm to retrieve a hunting dog. After retrieving such dog, the person shall immediately leave the premises.

            2. Any person who retrieves a hunting dog in accordance with this section is not guilty of and shall not be subject to any civil or criminal penalties for trespass. Nothing in this section shall be construed as prohibiting civil or criminal penalties for trespass if such person exceeds the limited authorization under this section.
