STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six
AN ACT relative to the possession of a firearm without a serial number.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Public Safety and Welfare; Changing Marks on a Firearm. Amend RSA 159:13 to read as follows:
159:13 Changing Marks. No person shall change, alter, remove, or obliterate the name of the maker, model, manufacturer's number, or other mark of identification on any pistol or revolver, or any other firearm. Possession of any such firearms upon which the same shall have been changed, altered, removed, or obliterated shall be presumptive evidence that such possessor has changed, altered, removed, or obliterated the same. Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a [misdemeanor] class A felony.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2027.
