        AN ACT to amend the  general  business  law,  in  relation  to  firearms
          designed to look like everyday objects
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The general business law is amended by adding a new section
     2  399-rr to read as follows:
     3    § 399-rr. Firearms designed to look like everyday objects; prohibited.
     4  (a) No person, firm or  corporation  shall  manufacture,  import,  sell,
     5  offer, give or lend a firearm designed to look like an everyday object.
     6    (b)  For the purposes of this section, the phrase "firearm designed to
     7  look like an everyday object" shall include, but not be limited to:
     8    (1) a single shot pistol designed to look  like  a  pen  until  it  is
     9  reconfigured for firing, commonly referred to as a pen gun, and
    10    (2)  a  .380 caliber, double barreled derringer designed to resemble a
    11  smartphone while folded up, commonly referred to  as  an  ideal  conceal
    12  firearm.
    13    (c)  Any  person,  firm  or  corporation  who  knowingly  violates any
    14  provisions of this section shall be guilty  of  a  class  A  misdemeanor
    15  punishable as provided for in the penal law.
    16    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
