R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Deputy Constable R. R. Bledsoe of the Nueces County
  Constable's Office lost his life in the line of duty on July 5,
  1925, and his service and sacrifice will not soon be forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, At the age of 32, Deputy Constable Bledsoe had been
  employed by the agency for just seven months when he and another
  constable stopped to question four men they observed drinking in
  public; they were attempting to place the offenders under arrest
  when the men pulled out handguns and opened fire, killing both
  officers; and
         WHEREAS, Our state and nation benefit immeasurably from the
  courage and commitment of law enforcement professionals such as
  Deputy Constable R. R. Bledsoe, who willingly place themselves in
  harm's way each day to safeguard the lives and property of their
  fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and exemplary service of
  Deputy Constable R. R. Bledsoe of the Nueces County Constable's
  Office.
