Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 15.2-915.6 as follows:
§15.2-915.6. Possession, purchase, and transport of certain firearms in certain localities.
A person may lawfully possess, purchase, or transport a firearm or firearms magazine that he would otherwise be lawfully permitted to possess, purchase, or transport on January 1, 2020, while he is in a locality that has enacted an ordinance, resolution, or motion, as permitted by §15.2-1425, that authorizes the possession, purchase, or transportation of such firearm or firearms magazine within such locality.
