HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 217
Commending the Loudoun 98 Red girls' soccer team.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 30, 2015

WHEREAS, the Loudoun 98 Red girls' soccer team won the Virginia Youth Soccer Association State Cup in the under-16 division on November 2, 2014; and

WHEREAS, the Loudoun 98 Red girls' soccer team defeated a talented team from the Braddock Road Youth Club in Springfield to claim the state title in the closely matched game; and

WHEREAS, after regulation and extra time ended in a draw, the resilient athletes of the Loudoun 98 Red girls' soccer team remained focused to win 4 - 3 on penalty kicks; and

WHEREAS, after the victory, the Loudoun 98 Red girls' soccer team was honored to be ranked as the top team at the state, regional, and national levels by GotSoccer magazine; and

WHEREAS, the victory is a testament to the hard work and determination of the athletes, the leadership of the coaches and staff, and the enthusiastic support of parents, friends, and members of the Loudoun County community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Loudoun 98 Red girls' soccer team hereby be commended on winning the 2014-2015 Virginia Youth Soccer Association State Cup in the under-16 division; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Randall May, head coach of the Loudoun 98 Red girls' soccer team, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's accomplishments and best wishes for the future.
